| After more than 5 successful years as Director of Community First, Audrey Hollingbery has retired.
Our new Director, David Fawcett, joined us on 12th May and we would like to welcome him to his new role!

| David commented “I am delighted to be joining Community First and the fantastic team we have working here. Over the last five years we have become established as a key part of the local community under Audrey’s stewardship and I wish to continue this and build on our success. I look forward to meeting members and partners over the next few months.” |

| Fiona Jeynes is the new Petersfield Innovations Project Worker!
Her role is to support voluntary and community organisations to help strengthen existing services for older people and to identify any gaps in the type of services or activities available. |

| Bernard Simmons is the new Volunteer Centre Manager!
Bernard has been working as a Volunteering Ambassador for the Volunteer Centre Winchester and also Volunteer Centre Manager (job-share with Sue Greene) East Hampshire. |

| All change for Sue Greene!
Sue continues working in the Volunteer Centre with added responsibility as a Projects Coordinator for the Community First team. The current projects include the East Hants Disability Forum and the East Hants Diversity Forum. |

| Janet Easton is our New Outreach Project Worker, funded by BASIS!
Janet's role is to support small new or existing voluntary groups across East Hampshire. |

| Hampshire Children & Young People's Alliance! |
|
The Children & Young People's Alliance, the children and young people's voluntary sector working together for Hampshire, has launched a series of free training events across Hampshire, for February and March 2008. These workshops are aimed at all kinds of organisations, including sports clubs, faith-based community groups, youth clubs and parent and toddler groups. New ISA register to protect children and vulnerable adults. The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) has been set-up following government review of failures to protect children. It will become operational in late 2008 and aims to register all people, including volunteers and their management committee members, who work with children and vulnerable adults (CVA). | The Hampshire Network of Volunteer Centres have launched:There are links to all the Volunteer Centres in Hampshire, plus stories from volunteers to inspire others to volunteer. |
- Every Action Counts is about how groups of people can have a bigger impact for a better future by working together. Any group can help make every action count - for example, community groups, clubs and societies, community organisations, community centres, neighbourhood groups, hobby groups, faith groups, sports clubs and local amenity societies. The website will help your group take simple and effective actions to protect and improve your environment, now and for generations to come!
